During our Acton regeneration project we carried out the controlled demolition of 84 residential flats as part of a wider redevelopment programme. Working in close proximity to occupied properties required controlled demolition techniques and constant communication throughout the project to make sure that works progressed safely whilst preparing the site for future development.
We also delivered demolition works at Royal Eden Docks, where the site was surrounded by residential buildings and a hotel. Special attention was also given to reducing noise, vibration and dust pollution to maintain a controlled and considerate working environment.

Not every demolition project involves removing traditional buildings, with some requiring additional, specialist engineering knowledge. Our Chelmsford Bridge removal project is one such example, where we removed a 45-metre-wide bailey bridge and earth approach ramps before dismantling the bridge for travel and storage. Every stage of the operation required careful sequencing to make sure that the bridge could be safely removed whilst protecting the surrounding infrastructure.
This project in particular demonstrates the breadth of experience required within modern demolition and the knowledge required to adapt methods accordingly.
At SRC Group we always look for opportunities to recover and recycle materials wherever practical. Concrete, brick, metals and other suitable materials can often be separated and processed via our in-house recycled facilities rather than being sent directly to landfill.
